Lottomart’s Irish Lotto draw allows players to bet on the outcome of Ireland’s Lotto, whether you’re in Ireland or not. The lotto draws every Wednesday and Friday at 8pm GMT.
History of The Irish Lotto
Ireland’s first Lotto draw occurred in Dublin on Saturday, 16th April 1988. At the time, players selected six numbers from a pool of 36. Two years later, the governing body introduced a midweek draw on Wednesdays. The Lotto’s format changed several times over the years, first in August 1992 with the introduction of the Bonus Ball and more prize tiers, then again in September 1994 with the addition of 3 new balls, and one more time in September 2006. At this point, players picked 6 numbers from a pool of 45 with a guaranteed €2m jackpot. The last significant change happened in September 2015. The Lotto transformed into the draw we know today with new prize tiers; players pick 6 numbers from a choice of 47. Meanwhile, the price of a ticket increased to €2 per line bet.
How To Play The Irish Lotto
Lottomart’s Irish Lotto is easy to understand and follows a basic lotto format that’s easy to understand. First, it allows you to bet on the outcome of the bi-weekly Lotto draw in Dublin, Ireland, with a minimum guaranteed €2m jackpot prize that (if not won) rolls over to the next draw. Numbers get chosen just like you would in the actual Lotto. The result then gets decided by the underlying lottery draw held in Dublin. It’s necessary to add line bets to your bet slip in order to play the Irish Lotto. A line bet consists of 6 numbers from a pool of 47 numbers from 1 – 47. The advantage of playing at Lottomart is that you can choose your numbers or use the Quick Pick option to have numbers chosen for you (we’ll go over this in more detail below). Several more options are available when playing the Irish Lotto at Lottomart. For example, you can bet on the outcome of future lotto draws (subject to availability) and even boost your line bets. To successfully predict the outcome of the underlying Lotto draw in Dublin, it’s necessary to either match all 6 main numbers on one line bet to the numbers or if one of your numbers matches the Bonus Ball, you can still win by exactly matching 2, 3, 4, or 5 main numbers.
Irish Lotto Odds
The odds of winning the Irish Lotto draw may vary depending on how many numbers get matched. These odds get split into different tiers:

What’s Different with Lotto Betting?
Lottomart is not a lottery operator, nor are we connected in any way with the various lotteries upon which we offer betting. Some Lottomart draws are based on underlying lottery draws and also follow the jackpot and select secondary prizes. Mega Millions and US Powerball are examples of this. Please consult lotto rules for details.
Some Lottomart draws are based on official underlying lottery draws but have jackpots and prizes set by us. Quick Lotto Plus and Quick Lotto are examples of this. Again, please consult lotto rules for details.
If you win, the money is paid by Lottomart or our insurers, not the official lottery. Jackpot and select secondary payouts are backed by insurance providers to guarantee payouts to winners. Non-insured prizes are paid by Lottomart directly.
